Das Wetplate Weekend führt ein in die wundervolle Welt der Glasplattenfotografie, die auch als Ambrotypie bekannt ist.

Das Wetplate Weekend führt uns ein in die wundervolle Welt der Glasplattenphotographie, die auch als Ambrotypie bekannt ist. David Puntel zeigt uns die Technik in seinem Central-Valley-Project-Studio in Berlin-Treptow. Wir lernen alle Schritte der Nassplatten-Technik kennen, arbeiten mit verschiedenen Kameras, verschiendenen Formaten (4x5"/5x7"/8x10") und historischen Objektiven, mit denen wir unseren Impressionen auf den einzigartigen Ambrotypien verewigen.

Dieser Intensivkurs ist auch für Einsteiger*innen ohne fotografische Vorkenntnisse geeignet und ist limitiert für 4 Teilnehmer*innen. Das ermöglicht eine besonders intensive Arbeitsatmosphäre und eine persönliche Betreuung bei allen Arbeitsschritten.
Drinks und alle Materialien zum Herstellen von ca. 10 Wetplates, die die Teilnehmer mit nach Hause nehmen können, sind im Preis inbegriffen.

1. Tag | 10:00-18:00 Einführung, Vorbereitung und Fotografieren

2. Tag | 10:00-18:00  Weiteres Fotografieren, Verfeinerung und Diskussion

The Wetplate Weekend is a journey into the amazing world of creating photographic images on glass, historically known as ambrotypes. This Collodion Workshop is held in the Central Valley Studio in Berlin Treptow. By shooting with artificial light we will learn the challenging issue of exposure control.

The workshop includes instruction in all steps of the process, begining with the chemistry involved and continuing with the glass preparation and the exposure, as well as working with different lights to trouble-shooting and ending by examining your own unique images. The participants will work with different cameras and antique brass lenses creating up to ten of our own ambrotypes that you can keep to preserve this wonderful weekend experience out of another place and time.
